Once I became a mom, all of my IG accounts and reading lists naturally became all about parenting topics. From how to feed a toddler to how to manage toddler tantrums to baby sleep training, there’s a resource for every parenting topic covered out there. It can be quite overwhelming with the number of resources so I have narrowed it down to my top 5 parenting resources that I regularly follow and subscribe to. Hopefully, you’ll find a resource that addresses what you’re looking for!

  1. @karrie_locher – Karrie is an amazing resource to follow as a new mom! Karrie Locher is a Registered Nurse who specializes in Labor & Delivery. She covers all things pregnancy-related to motherhood topics such as proper latching, postpartum recovery to preparing for your birth experience. She helped me so much during my first few months as a new mom. I particularly appreciated the middle of the night IG stories of her breastfeeding her son that made me feel less alone in my motherhood journey. I highly recommend Karrie for all new (and experienced) mamas!
  2. @solidstarts – I didn’t start following Solids Starts until we started to introduce solids to our son around 6-7 months old. I purchased their app which was $3.99 at the time. They offer an abundance of resources online via their blog and their Instagram account. They provide ideas for introducing your child’s first solids and how to prepare foods for them as well! They truly relieved our fears of food safety & choking hazards for infants, making our transition to solids a much smoother experience!
  3. @takingcarababies – Takingcarababies is another must-follow resource for new mamas! She breaks down everything you need to know to sleep train your little one at every development stage. She offers courses as well but I felt I didn’t need to take her course because all of her guidance from her blog and IG profile was enough for me to understand the basics of baby sleep training. Our son has been sleeping through the night since he was 4 months old and we have Cara to thank for that!
  4. @transformingtoddlerhood – Thankfully, we haven’t had to deal with the typical toddler trantrums (yet) with Nathan but we are bracing ourselves as he further develops into his toddlerhood. Following @transformingtoddlerhood provides me with useful tools for if and when our son, Nathan, begins to show some of these development behaviors. Devon is an ICF Certified Coach who specializes in coaching parents with overcoming behavior challenges for toddlers ages 1-5. Her posts remind me to slow down and reflect on how I’m reinforcing a positive and respectful environment for my son.
  5. @legendairymilk – Legendairymilk is another great resource dedicated to breastfeeding moms. They cover everything breastfeeding-related from how to maintain milk supply to pumping parts to different nursing positions.

I would love to hear what resources you follow that were super helpful during your first few months as a new mom!
